Vintage and Classic Vehicle Section

Each year, an impressive range of vehicles take part in this section of the show. Please find below the entry forms for the section.

A journalist from Classic Car Weekly will be attending the vintage and classic vehicle section of the show on Sunday 29th and will be talking to entrants and taking photos, the photos and a write-up will be published a week or two later in Classic Car Weekly.

The Egham Royal Show this year (2009) was very successful, I was particularly pleased with my own section - the vintage and classic vehicles.  Over the two day show I had 200 vehicles enter – many were late entries too.

As usual my judges had a very difficult job deciding on the winners of each class.  The special and custom class I introduced two years ago has started to grow in size too as people hear about it.
I am looking to increase the motor cycle entries as these have tailed off in recent years and I want to build this display up.  This year I had an excellent exhibit of four motorcycles by Runnemede youth Trials club.  It attracted many youngsters interested in the motor cycle sport.

If you are interested in entering any of your vintage or classic vehicle, commercials or motorcycles in our 2010 Egham Royal Show please contact me through the show website – I will be very pleased to hear from you.

Kind regards, Douglas Newton - Show President and organiser of the Vintage & classic vehicle section.

The Surrey Youth Motor Cycle Trials Sports Club (Runnymede) will be attending the vintage and classic vehicle section of Egham Royal Show on both days, as they did last year.  This static display consists of four motorcycles – a full size machine plus three smaller ones.    Each motorcycle is secured to a base plate and cannot be moved or ridden, and the display is organised and supervised by Eddie Renham and his team of volunteers.

Eddie is hoping youngsters will visit the display so they can learn more about safe and skilful off road motorcycle trials riding – a sport suitable for ages 6 to 70 plus.   Runnymede Borough Council has supported off road motorcycling since 1962 and was given the full support and endorsement of the Chief Executive Officer Tim Williams.

In addition to these trials bikes, there will be the usual display of vintage and classic cars, historic commercials and classic motorcycles. For further information about entering a vehicle or motorcycle in the show visit our website  www.eghamroyalshow.org.uk or contact Douglas Newton on 01908 511894
