Model Section Winner of The The Duke of Edinburgh Trophy 2009 Hi l am Roger Cashen, for the last two years l have been running the Model Marquee and building up to last year where we had ten exhibitors, (3 years ago we had two exhibits). This year l hope to have a further three clubs and at least one steam museum extra. Models range from Live Steam Trains , Fair ground exhibits and working Organ , Ferris wheel and collection of exhibits, to a model 3 steam tractor being made. Also we will have at least two Steam tractor engines in steam and moving around the show ground, so please if you hear a whistle blow, look around as they will not be able to stop on a sixpence. At this moment in time I have coming a Large model tin railway lay-out, the Staines Society of Model Engineers stand, a fair ground collection & working organ, the Whitton Modellers (boats), Victoria Model Steamboat Club, Kempton Steam Museum, Woodley Model Yatch Club, Ferris Wheel & a collection minature steam engines, a collection of Railway Memorabilia, A working Port Quay crane, and a collection of Large model Traction Engines starting with a road run at 0945 on Saturday into Egham Town and back and then steam carefully around the field. And a very nice collection of Meccano items, and large Meccano working crane So hope to see you at the Show.
This year we will have a pond outside the Marquee for boats and yachts to sail on, also we are hoping to have a few radio controlled boats for youngsters to have ago on under adult supervision. Also this year we are bring back a Silver Annual Trophy for the Best Model (self made) entered for competition.
